Dr. Delphina Michael Kapoor โ turning "I don't want to go to the dentist" into "can we go again?"
BDS ยท Fellowship in Endodontics ยท Final-year MDS, Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry
I'm Dr. Delphina Michael Kapoor โ a dentist (BDS) with a Fellowship in Endodontics, currently in the final year of my MDS in Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry. I work exclusively with children โ from a baby's very first tooth to a teenager's very last dental drama.
My philosophy is simple: a child's first memories of the dentist decide the next fifty years of their oral health. So my clinic days are equal parts evidence-based dentistry and theatre โ tell-show-do, sticker economies, and treatment plans parents actually understand.
Outside the clinic, I'm running my dissertation research on pulpotomy techniques in primary teeth โ because kids deserve care that's not just kind, but current.
Everything below is delivered with cartoons on the ceiling and zero judgment for wobbly-tooth tears.
Saving primary teeth with modern pulpotomy techniques โ including diode laser and MTA โ backed by first-hand clinical trial experience.
Faster, gentler root canal treatment in primary teeth using pediatric rotary file systems โ less chair time, happier kids.
Catching bite and alignment problems early โ space maintainers, serial extraction, and habit-breaking appliances at the right age.
Tell-show-do, modeling, and positive reinforcement. The goal: a child who walks out asking when they can come back.
Fluoride therapy, pit & fissure sealants, and caries risk assessment โ because the best cavity is the one that never happens.
Compassionate care for children with special healthcare needs and cleft lip & palate, coordinated with the wider care team.
Clinical research keeps my chairside decisions honest.
A three-arm randomized clinical trial comparing clinical and radiographic outcomes of three pulpotomy medicaments and techniques in primary molars โ contributing evidence toward gentler, more predictable pulp therapy for children.
Scientific paper and poster presentations at national pediatric dentistry conferences. (Add titles & years here.)
Laser dentistry in children, caries vaccines, nanotechnology in pediatric dentistry, and minimally invasive pulp therapy.
Journal publications in progress from dissertation and departmental research. (Link them here as they go live.)
The four things I wish every parent knew before the first visit.
The first dental visit should happen when the first tooth appears โ or by the first birthday, whichever comes first. Early visits build comfort, not fear.
"They'll fall out anyway" is the most expensive myth in dentistry. Primary teeth guide speech, chewing, and the position of adult teeth.
Two minutes, twice a day, with a rice-grain smear of fluoride toothpaste under age three. Make it a game, not a battle.
For a permanent tooth: hold it by the crown, store it in milk, and get to a dentist within 30โ60 minutes. Time is everything.
